It is conference season for me. That time of year when I get to attend the local, general writing conference (Hampton Roads Writers) this month, and the Mid-Atlantic SCBWI (for children’s writers) next month, just outside of DC.
I love attending these things. You learn a lot; about writing, editing, publishing, and pitching to agents. And you get to meet a lot of great writers undertaking this grand journey with you. You can learn just as much (if not more) from them as you can from the presenters.
This time around, I pitched a manuscript that I had ready (I learned from my last attempt that you are supposed to have fiction complete before pitching, unlike non-fiction, where you just need a proposal.) Anyway, I was asked to submit, and I did tonight, so its time to cross our fingers and hope for the best!
